VIVOSUN sells grow tents, lights, inline fans and Wi-Fi humidifiers under one green-and-black look. Getting humidity right starts with sizing. A unit that is too small may never reach its target, and one that is too big takes up room a small tent cannot spare.
This guide follows VIVOSUN’s AeroStream humidifiers from end to end: who makes them, how the app ties devices together, what VPD means, how to match a model to a tent, how they stack up against AC Infinity, how to look after them and where to buy so the warranty applies.
It is desk research, not a hands-on report. Figures come from spec sheets, manuals and the brand’s own pages, and a number is labeled a claim whenever the brand is the only source behind it.
Who VIVOSUN Is
VIVOSUN began on the commercial side of growing and worked its way toward home tents. The milestones below come from its own published timeline, so they show how the company describes itself.
| Year | Milestone |
| 2009 | Sources and sells HPS lamps to early commercial growers |
| 2012 | Adds air-cooled reflector fixtures, meant to keep hot bulbs from scorching plants in tight rooms |
| 2014 | Releases its first grow tent, which the brand says brought cultivation to the masses |
| 2015 | Launches carbon filters and inline duct fans |
| 2021 | Launches its own LED grow lights |
| 2022 | Introduces the Smart Grow System in April, and the brand says the AeroLight LED earned a Red Dot Design Award two months later |
The filters and fans answer a tent grower’s first practical needs, which are odor control and airflow. Later products are built around the app instead of standing alone.
On scale, the brand’s story page cites 15 million products sold, 15 countries and over 75 patents. Its About page gives 2M+ users and 100+ patents instead. These are marketing figures and the two pages disagree on patents, so read them as a rough sense of size, not audited data.
Many product lines start with Aero, and most link to the same app. AC Infinity is another maker with linked fans, controllers and humidifiers.
How the Smart Grow System Works
VIVOSUN’s pitch is one app for every device. Linked units can be adjusted together, and the app can run grow recipes that shift your targets as the crop changes stage.

| Part | Role | Key figures |
| Temperature and humidity probe | Reads conditions at plant level | 12-foot cable, 2.5 mm plug, stated accuracy of ±0.9°F and ±5% humidity |
| GrowHub E42A+ | Controller for lights, fans and more | 4.3-inch color screen, 2.4 GHz Wi-Fi, room for 6 devices |
| GrowHub A10 smart plug | Switches gear from other makers | Handles loads of 1,800 W or less; per the brand, schedules keep running locally without internet |
| AeroStream H05, H09, H19 | Smart humidifiers | Own Wi-Fi and probe, so they run alone or inside the system |
You do not need all of it. One smart device is enough to begin with, and more can be added later. A humidifier that carries its own probe already reports at plant level without extra hardware.
VPD in plain English
Vapor pressure deficit, or VPD, is one kilopascal (kPa) figure that captures how strongly the air pulls moisture from leaves. It rolls temperature and humidity together.
Humidity alone can mislead. The same reading is easier on a plant in cool air than in warm air, because warm air draws more water out of leaves. A 2021 paper on lettuce in Frontiers in Plant Science puts the comfortable band for most plants at 0.5 to 0.8 kPa.
Each growth stage prefers a different range, so VIVOSUN publishes a stage chart. It is the brand’s general guidance, not a rule for every crop:
- Germination: humidity 65 to 85%, VPD 0.4 to 0.8 kPa.
- Seedling: humidity 55 to 85%, VPD 0.5 to 1.0 kPa.
- Vegetative: humidity 40 to 70%, VPD 0.8 to 1.5 kPa.
- Flowering: humidity 40 to 50%, VPD 1.0 to 1.6 kPa.
- Drying: humidity 45 to 60%, VPD 0.5 to 1.2 kPa.
Where to put the probe
Position decides what the probe tells you. The brand advises hanging it above the canopy, roughly 10 to 15 cm from the stem, and clear of leaves, fans and the humidifier’s mist. A probe sitting in the mist reports a damp pocket, which can make the unit stop early.
Compatibility and outages
Smart AeroStream units need 2.4 GHz Wi-Fi, and the manual wants Bluetooth on during pairing. Without internet, the buttons on the unit still select a mode while the remote features wait. Keep that in mind if your router is far from the tent.
The AeroStream Humidifier Lineup

The AeroStream family has four models: three smart units with Wi-Fi, a probe and a hose, plus a small USB model for tiny spaces.
- U075: 750 ml tank, 50 ml/h output, up to 28 hours of intermittent running and a noise rating of 28 dB or below, powered over USB.
- H05: 5 L tank, 250 ml/h, up to 50 hours, 35 dB or below. Made for 2×2 and 2.7×2.7 tents.
- H09: 9 L tank, 450 ml/h, up to 60 hours, 35 dB or below, built as a 25.4-inch tower for 2×4 and 3×3 tents.
- H19: 19 L tank and up to 1,300 ml/h of output, with a runtime that tops out at 67 hours and a noise rating of 46 dB or below. About 30 inches tall on casters, with handles, a 5-way nozzle and a 100 W draw, for 4×4, 5×5 and 4×8 tents.
The U075 is the outlier. Power comes over USB, mist comes through a cotton wick, which has to be soaked all the way through ahead of its first run, and the controls stop at two mist modes plus a shutoff when water runs low. VIVOSUN built it for the VGrow box and small clone tents and advises against larger tents or open areas.
The wick also flips the water rule. For this model the brand says to avoid distilled or filtered water, the reverse of its advice for the smart three. Smart control is absent, GrowHub E-series controllers do not work with it, and only a VGrow box or an A-series GrowHub can bring it into the app.

How to Pick the Right Size
Two things decide the size: how much air the tent holds and how hard its ventilation works. VIVOSUN’s chart ties the first to a model.
| Tent volume | Model | Tents it targets |
| Up to 46 cubic feet | H05 | 2×2 and 2.7×2.7 |
| 46 to 124 cubic feet | H09 | 2×4 and 3×3 |
| 124 to 318 cubic feet | H19 | 4×4, 5×5 and 4×8 |
Measure the tent first
Volume is width times depth times height, all in feet. A 2×2 tent that stands 4 feet tall holds 16 cubic feet, and a 3×3 that stands 6 feet tall holds 54.
The chart has an edge case. A 4×4 tent that is 80 inches tall works out near 107 cubic feet, which sits in the H09’s band even though VIVOSUN lists 4×4 tents under the H19. In that zone, ventilation settles the question.
Weigh ventilation and your target
A footnote on the chart matters here. When you want humidity above 80%, run strong ventilation or work in an open area, the brand points to a larger model or several units.
An exhaust fan keeps drawing moist air out of the tent. If yours works hard, or you grow seedlings, clones or mushrooms that need high humidity, step up one size.

Refills, noise and footprint
- Refills: a larger tank saves trips with distilled water, and the H19 can run up to 67 hours per fill.
- Noise: the H19 is the loudest at 46 dB or below, versus 35 dB or below on the H05 and H09.
- Placement: the three smart models ship with a hose, so the unit can stay outside while mist travels in through a port.
One big unit or two small ones?
The chart itself suggests multiple units for tough conditions. A pair of H05s totals 500 ml/h, a little above one H09, and two outlets can cover opposite sides of the tent. You pay for that in upkeep, with two tanks to refill and two atomizers to clean.
Once you have settled on a size, you can browse VIVOSUN’s storefront on Amazon. The link opens Amazon in a new tab, where you can check current prices.
VIVOSUN vs AC Infinity
AC Infinity’s CLOUDFORGE T3 is a similar small smart humidifier with an external probe, which makes it a fair yardstick for the H05. The numbers sit close together: a 5 L tank against 4.5 L, up to 50 hours of runtime against 45, and 35 dB or below against 38 dBA.
Stated outputs are nearly equal as well, so on paper neither has a speed advantage in a large tent. The split is app control.
Wi-Fi is part of the H05’s hardware. After pairing with the VIVOSUN app, it offers remote control, VPD targets and a push alert for low water, with nothing extra to buy.
The T3 handles its humidity and VPD triggers and timers on the device. An AC Infinity UIS controller is the route to alerts, advanced scheduling and phone control, per one retailer’s listing.
The T3 has real strengths. Its onboard triggers and timers are built to run without Wi-Fi, AC Infinity says settings return on their own after a power cut, and the brand describes a water-resistant seal with waterproof ports. Its flexible tube is said to stretch past 4 feet for targeted misting.
The H05 offers all-in-one smart control, 1% humidity steps, Phantom mode for the screen and a slightly lower noise rating. For bigger tents, AC Infinity’s T5 holds 9 L and offers warm or cool mist, while the T7 holds 15 L and adds an auto-fill valve.
The deciding factor is the ecosystem you already own. Each brand designs its accessories around its own app, so staying inside one family keeps things simple, while mixing makers means two apps and two sets of automations. Both list a 2-year warranty and a 30-day return window, with different fine print.
Other Climate Gear Worth Knowing
Humidity is only half of tent climate control. Two other VIVOSUN products pair naturally with a humidifier.
AeroDrain D12 dehumidifier
Late in a grow, the job can flip from adding moisture to removing it. The D12 is a compressor unit that includes its own probe and joins the VIVOSUN app.
Its spec sheet lists up to 12 liters of water removed per day into a 2.1 L tank, with noise at 42 dBA or below. A full tank stops it, you get two ways to drain, and it restarts after a power outage.
One inconsistency deserves attention. The product page gives two different coverage figures, 2 x 4 tents in one spot and 5×5 in another. The safer reading is the smaller figure, and VIVOSUN support can confirm before you rely on one unit in a larger tent.
GrowHub E42A+ controller
On the E42A+, lights and fans follow a schedule or a climate trigger, and the unit keeps a log of temperature, humidity and VPD. Wi-Fi is 2.4 GHz only, six devices is the limit and a 3-meter probe comes with it. It suits a tent where fan, light and humidifier should live in one app.
Cleaning and Care

Weak mist often points to a scaled atomizer rather than a fault, according to VIVOSUN’s FAQ. The routine below follows the AeroStream H05 manual.
Why the water matters
Minerals and chlorine in tap water are the root of the scale problem. The brand says that over time they leave deposits in the atomizer and pipes, which cut mist output, can cause malfunctions and can skew probe accuracy. For that reason the manual specifies distilled water only on the smart models.
Schedule by part
- Atomizer: wipe it at every refill and deep clean it once a month.
- Water tray: clean it weekly.
- Tank: clean it every two to three weeks.
- Exterior: wipe it with a soft cloth when needed.
Running the unit around the clock tightens this. The brand then wants a weekly clean, which is also the manual’s default advice.
The weekly vinegar clean
Gather distilled water, vinegar, the supplied brush and a soft cloth, then switch the unit off and unplug it. Lift off the top cover and the outlet or hose, and move the tank to a sink.
The base comes first. Fill it with a half-and-half mix, half a cup of each liquid, and leave it for about ten minutes. Brush the atomizer lightly, clean the float and base while they stand upright, and pour out the liquid.
The tank and filter come next. Take the filter out and soak it in the same mix for about ten minutes, then brush it lightly and let it dry. Wipe the tank, cover and exterior, and put everything back together.
Habits to avoid
The manual and the brand warn against four things. Never pour water into the central pipe, and do not fill past the limit. Skip essential oils, fragrances and nutrient solutions, which the brand says clog the atomizer. Do not run the unit without water, which the manual says can damage it.
Storing it between grows
The manual’s warning that cold conditions can damage the unit drives the storage advice, so keep it at room temperature. Before it goes into a box, empty the tank, clean every part and let all of it dry, hose included. On the way back into service, the brand wants fresh water and a freshly cleaned atomizer ahead of the first run.
Buying From the Right Seller
The warranty depends on the seller, so where you buy matters as much as which model you pick.
The official channels
VIVOSUN’s warranty policy recognizes four sources: vivosun.com plus the company’s own stores on Amazon, Walmart and eBay. Distributors, resellers, offline dealers and third-party sellers on any platform sit outside the cover, and a problem there goes back to that seller.
Checking a seller on Amazon
One product page can offer several sellers. Before checkout, open the seller details and read both the Ships from and Sold by entries, where VIVOSUN’s own store should appear.
If you plan to buy through Amazon, you can browse VIVOSUN’s storefront on Amazon, which opens Amazon in a new tab, and then check those seller entries on any product you open.
Fake sites to avoid
VIVOSUN keeps a fraud-awareness page naming 12 websites that borrowed its name for so-called clearance sales, many advertised on Facebook. The fakes follow a pattern: they tack a word such as shop, us, sale or grow onto the name, while the genuine domain is plain vivosun.com.
If a site looks doubtful, the brand asks customers to write to [email protected]. Already paid? Stop further payments, keep every email and receipt, and contact your card issuer.
Returns and warranty basics
The return rules VIVOSUN publishes cover orders placed on its own website. You have 30 days from delivery, and support must approve the return first through [email protected]. Bought elsewhere? Check the terms on that listing.
Condition shapes the outcome. Unopened items in original packaging earn a free label. An opened item in perfect condition and packaging goes back on a prepaid label, but the shipping fee comes out of your refund, or you can send it yourself. Damage or missing parts can mean a refused refund or added fees, and a proven defect is returned or replaced at no cost.
For a warranty claim, email [email protected] with your order number, model name, serial number and clear photos or a short video of the fault. The team may ask for installation photos or usage history. If it wants the product back, you prepay that shipping, and an approved claim ends in a repair with new or refurbished parts, or a replacement.
Misuse, accidents, unauthorized repairs and consumables fall outside the warranty, so the manual’s rules on distilled water and filling matter for a humidifier.
VIVOSUN Humidifier FAQ
Is the H05 suited to 80% humidity?
Not by the brand’s own chart. It says targets above 80%, strong ventilation or open spaces call for a bigger model or a second unit.
Does it need Wi-Fi to work?
Not for the basics. The unit’s buttons pick Manual, Cycle, Auto or Timer mode. VPD targets and alerts rely on the app, which needs a 2.4 GHz network and, while pairing, Bluetooth.
Can it run around the clock?
The brand says every model in the series is meant for 24-hour use. Continuous running calls for a weekly clean to keep scale away.
What if the water runs out?
Misting pauses and the display shows a low-water alert, and a linked phone gets a push notification. Refill the tank and press On/Off to carry on.
What is Phantom mode?
It darkens the screen so its glow does not interrupt the plants’ dark period. To lock it, hold On/Off with Up for 3 seconds and press On/Off once more. Any button wakes the display.
Before You Decide
Choosing a humidifier comes down to three questions: how big is the tent, how hard does the ventilation work, and do you want one app for everything?
Match your volume to the chart, go up a size for strong exhaust or high targets, and buy from a seller the warranty recognizes. After that, keep up a cleaning routine with distilled water.
