The VIVOSUN AeroStream H05 is a compact ultrasonic cool-mist humidifier made for grow tents. Among the brand’s Wi-Fi AeroStream units, it is the smallest. A bedroom humidifier has no equivalent of its main extra: a probe on a long cable, which lets the unit read conditions at plant level.

This is a research-based verdict, not a hands-on test. The sources are the brand’s spec sheet, manual and FAQ, plus a retailer listing for the AC Infinity details. Anything that rests on the maker’s word alone is marked as a claim.

The short version: a feature-rich choice for a small tent, and by the brand’s own sizing chart the wrong size for big or heavily vented spaces.

What the Spec Sheet Says

Here are the headline figures from the spec sheet.

OutputUp to 250 ml an hour
RuntimeAs long as 50 hours per fill
Noise35 dB or below
Power28 W, with a 100 to 240 V AC input
Control modesAuto, Manual, Cycle and Timer
Dimensions7.4 by 7.4 by 13.9 inches
Tent coverageUp to 46 cubic feet, meaning 2×2 and 2.7×2.7 tents
Smart featuresWi-Fi on the 2.4 GHz band, plus the VIVOSUN app
ProbeExternal sensor on a 10-foot cable

The probe is the feature that changes the picture. Plugged into the base, it hangs at the end of a 10-foot cable, so the unit can respond to the air around the plants instead of the moist air near its own outlet.

VIVOSUN also advertises 1% humidity steps. That figure is the maker’s own, so treat it as a claim.

What Stands Out

Auto mode and VPD targets

In Auto mode you enter a target humidity. Per the manual, the unit starts misting when the probe reads under that number and stops once the reading climbs above it.

The app adds a VPD option and live VPD readouts. VPD folds temperature and humidity into a single figure, which helps because warm air draws more water from leaves than cool air at the same humidity.

App features and Phantom mode

The app brings remote control, low-water push alerts and grow recipes. A recipe changes your targets as the crop moves from one growth stage to the next.

Phantom mode turns the display dark, so screen light stays out of the plants’ dark period. Pressing any button wakes it again.

Connection requirements

The app side runs on a 2.4 GHz network, and the manual wants Bluetooth enabled while you pair. If the network is down, the unit’s own buttons still select Manual, Cycle, Auto or Timer, though remote features wait until Wi-Fi returns.

Placement options

A flexible hose comes in the box, so the humidifier can sit outside the tent while mist travels in through a port. Keep the outlet pointing up and avoid U-shaped bends in the hose, because water collects in them and can spill or block the flow.

Will It Cover Your Tent?

VIVOSUN’s chart rates the H05 for up to 46 cubic feet, which it translates into 2×2 and 2.7×2.7 tents. To size your own tent, multiply width, depth and height in feet. A tent that is 2 by 2 feet on the floor and 4 feet tall comes to 16.

The chart’s footnote adds a condition. Targets above 80%, strong ventilation or open areas call for a larger model or several units, according to the brand. An extraction fan keeps removing moist air, so a small humidifier can struggle to keep pace.

Larger tents move up the line. The H09 has a 9 L tank, up to 450 ml/h and up to 60 hours per fill, for 2×4 and 3×3 tents. The H19 has a 19 L tank, up to 1,300 ml/h and up to 67 hours, for 4×4, 5×5 and 4×8 setups.

A pair of H05 units is the alternative to stepping up. Their combined 500 ml/h edges past the H09’s 450 ml/h, and two outlets can spread mist across the tent. The price of that flexibility is upkeep: two tanks to refill and two atomizers to clean.

H05 vs AC Infinity CLOUDFORGE T3

AC Infinity’s CLOUDFORGE T3 is a similar small smart humidifier with an external probe, so it makes a fair comparison for a tent buyer. The two differ most in how phone control works.

Phone control is the real divider. The H05 carries its own Wi-Fi, so pairing it with the VIVOSUN app is enough for remote control, VPD targets and low-water alerts.

The T3 keeps its humidity and VPD triggers and timers on the device. Alerts, advanced scheduling and app control need an AC Infinity UIS controller, according to a retailer’s listing.

The T3 has its own advantages. Its triggers and timers run without an app, AC Infinity says settings return on their own after a power cut, and the brand describes a water-resistant seal with waterproof ports. The H05 answers with built-in smart control, 1% steps and a slightly lower noise rating.

Let your existing gear decide. A tent already run by an AC Infinity controller leans toward the T3, while a fresh start, or VIVOSUN fans and a GrowHub already in place, leans toward the H05. One catch on the VIVOSUN side is that its warranty depends on the seller, covered below.

Care and Water Rules

Scale is the problem to manage. VIVOSUN blames weak mist, malfunctions and even off probe readings on mineral build-up in the atomizer and pipes, which is why the manual limits the smart models to distilled water.

  • Every refill: fill slowly through the top opening, then wipe the atomizer.
  • Every week: give the base and atomizer a vinegar soak and wash the water tray.
  • Every two to three weeks: wash the whole tank and soak the filter.

Unplug the unit before any of this. The soak uses half a cup each of distilled water and vinegar, poured into the base and left for about ten minutes. Afterward, go over the atomizer gently with the supplied brush.

The brand warns against four things: scented or nutrient additives, which it says clog the atomizer, water poured into the central pipe, overfilling, and running the unit with an empty tank.

Storage comes down to the manual’s warning that cold can damage the unit, so keep it at room temperature. Before it goes away, empty the tank, clean everything and let each part dry, hose included. VIVOSUN’s FAQ says fresh water and a cleaned atomizer should come first when it returns to service.

Warranty and Where to Buy

VIVOSUN gives the H05 a 2-year limited warranty, but only to the original buyer and only for purchases from vivosun.com or the brand’s official storefronts on Amazon, Walmart and eBay. Other sellers fall outside it.

If you shop through Amazon, the seller matters. VIVOSUN’s storefront on Amazon opens in a new tab, and on any product page you open there, the Ships from and Sold by lines show whether VIVOSUN itself is the seller.

Claims start with an email to [email protected] and proof of purchase. Manufacturing defects and transit damage qualify when reported promptly, with a 30-day limit after delivery for visible damage. Misuse, accidents, unauthorized repairs and consumables do not qualify.

VIVOSUN also publishes a fraud notice naming 12 look-alike websites that ran so-called clearance sales under its name. The only genuine address is vivosun.com, and doubts about a seller can go to [email protected].

The brand’s published return policy covers orders placed on its own website, with a 30-day window and approval needed first. For a purchase made elsewhere, read the return terms on that listing.

VIVOSUN AeroStream H05 FAQ

Is tap water okay?

The brand says no for the smart models and asks for distilled or purified water, since minerals cause scale.

Can I run it without Wi-Fi?

The basic modes work from the unit’s buttons: Manual, Cycle, Auto and Timer. VPD targets and alerts need the app, which in turn needs a 2.4 GHz network.

Is nonstop operation fine?

According to VIVOSUN, every model in the series is meant for around-the-clock use. Under that load it recommends a weekly clean.

What happens when the tank empties?

Misting stops and the display warns about low water, with a push alert on a linked phone. Refill the tank, press On/Off and it resumes.

Where does the probe belong?

VIVOSUN suggests hanging it above the canopy, 10 to 15 cm from the stem. Leaves, fans and the mist plume can all distort the reading, so keep the sensor out of their path.

The Verdict

On paper, the H05 is built for one job: working toward a humidity or VPD target in a small tent, with an app, live readings and low-water alerts in support.

The limits are just as plain. It targets small spaces, the app features need 2.4 GHz Wi-Fi, it calls for distilled water and regular cleaning, and the warranty depends on who sells it.

A good fit if

  • Your tent is a 2×2 or 2.7×2.7 with only moderate airflow.
  • Your router reaches the tent on the 2.4 GHz band and you can live with distilled water.
  • You already own VIVOSUN gear and want a single app.

Look elsewhere if

  • You need high humidity in a bigger space or against strong airflow, where the H09 or H19 fits better.
  • Wi-Fi near the tent is patchy, since the smart features depend on it.
  • You would buy from an unofficial seller and give up the warranty.

If that sounds like your tent, see VIVOSUN’s range at its Amazon storefront and check the current prices there.
