Most speakers hide their screens. The MorningBlues Record R1 puts one front and center, and the result is part vinyl record player, part smart mirror.
The brand’s own site shows a 5.0-star average across 33 reviews. We went through the specs, the pricing and the wording of the buyer reviews to see how much weight that score deserves.

A Screen That Is the Main Event
The R1 treats its display as the headline feature, not as decoration. Stream a track from Amazon Music, Apple Music or Spotify, and the 324mm screen shows the album art in real time.
As the track continues, the picture shifts into one of nine animated lyric styles.
The anti-glare mirror finish matters when the music stops. A switched-off R1 looks like a design piece instead of a blank panel attached to a speaker.
Drivers and Power
The sound comes from Jamo-tuned drivers inside a sealed cabinet. One big woofer handles the low end, while four smaller drivers cover mids and highs.
The frequency range runs from 50Hz to 20kHz. By itself, the subwoofer receives 400 watts through Class D amplification.
Those are serious hi-fi numbers. This is not a toy speaker with a screen added on.

What Buyers Report
Every review visible on the official product page gives five stars. A perfect score like that deserves a close look at the actual text, so we read it for patterns.
- Buyers say the sound and the decor go together. One of them called the sound quality exceptional and said the speaker blends in perfectly at home.
- Several reviews describe the unboxing and build quality as premium for the price. One buyer felt the purchase was fully justified.
- We found just one documented problem: a unit that arrived defective. The brand sent a replacement, and that buyer had no more trouble afterward.
The reviews contain no real complaints about sound quality, connection dropouts or app stability. Those three issues usually drag down a Bluetooth speaker’s rating.
That does not prove nobody has run into them. With only 33 reviews, the 5.0 average looks promising rather than definitive.
Is the Price Fair?
The list price is $3,198, and the R1 currently sells for $1,699. MorningBlues has run this discount consistently instead of as a single flash event.
Against established hi-fi brands, the full list price would be tough to justify. At $1,699, the extra cost mostly buys display technology and design pedigree.
The R1 has been recognized by the Milan Design Awards, Red Dot and A’ Design.
Who This Speaker Suits
- Shoppers after a showpiece for the living room, a studio or another listening space, rather than a portable Bluetooth speaker.
- Buyers who value the looks as much as the audio, because the screen is what sets this model apart.
- People who accept a 30-day return window and a 12-month warranty in place of a decade-long track record. The brand only launched in 2024.
Maybe the R1’s price or size does not fit your space. In that case the smaller Cabinet S1 or the wall-mounted Portrait T2 may be a better match.
Where to Buy
Buy directly from MorningBlues or from its official Amazon listing. Stick to those two sources when you order.
Our Bottom Line
This speaker earns its design-award reputation through real driver specs and a display that does something useful. It is more than a novelty screen.
At $1,699 it is a considered purchase, not an impulse buy. So far, the reviews back up the price.
