Chai usually takes some effort. The Lazy Girl Starter Kit from Kola Goodies is built to cut that effort down.
It is the most-reviewed item in the shop. Its review count tops that of every other Kola Goodies product added together. The price is $58, marked down from $97, and the rating is 4.9 out of 5 across 260 reviews.
We read a large batch of those reviews, along with the ingredient panel and the FAQ. Our goal was to decide whether a $58 tea kit is worth buying.
Inside the Kit
The box holds a LazyCup, which is reusable and has a strainer built in, plus a tea scoop. It also has 30 servings in total, split evenly into 15 of Masala Chai Latte and 15 of Sri Lankan Milk Tea Latte.
Preparation is simple. Put a scoop of mix in the LazyCup and pour in hot water.
Stir, then pull the strainer out. You skip the stovetop and the extra infuser, and rinsing the cup is the only cleanup.
What Goes Into the Mixes
Both mixes start from the same base. The ingredients are loose leaf Ceylon black tea, raw coconut sugar, monkfruit sweetener and whole milk powder.
The Masala Chai adds Ceylon cinnamon, black pepper, clove, ginger and cardamom on top. The Milk Tea version is left plain and creamy.
What Buyers Say
A 4.9 average from 260 reviews is a strong result at that volume. The theme that keeps recurring is authenticity.
Reviewer Minoka G. wrote that it tasted just like what their mum used to make. Cassandra S. ranked it among the tastiest drinks they have ever had.
Nicole N. said it felt like having tea at their local Indian restaurant. Angela D., who says she has tried a lot of different chai brands, named this one her favorite.
We found very few complaints. Those were mostly personal preferences on how strongly spiced the chai tastes next to the milk tea, not quality problems with the kit.
What Each Cup Costs
At $58 for 30 servings, full price works out to roughly $1.93 a cup.
The Kola Goodies subscription program brings the price down to $1.64 per cup. The savings come from a standard 15% off on subscription orders. Shipping is free too, since orders over $25 always ship free.
A chai latte from a coffee shop runs $5 to $7. Against that, the kit earns back its cost after about ten cups.
Because the LazyCup can be used again, each reorder after the first covers only the tea mix.
Where It Fits in the Lineup
No other bundle in the Kola Goodies catalog packs the reusable cup and both core flavors into a single purchase. That makes it the obvious starting point compared with buying either tea alone.
Golde’s turmeric latte blends are the other point of comparison. The biggest difference is the tea itself. Kola Goodies is made with actual tea leaves, so it provides real caffeine and L-theanine, where Golde uses a caffeine-free herbal base.
Our Verdict
New to Kola Goodies? Start with this kit. It brings both core flavors and a purpose-built cup, and it costs less per cup than buying either tea on its own.
If the flavors do not suit you, the 30-day return window has you covered. Shipping fees are not refundable, though.
