A nubby cream finish on a solid wood base makes a strong first impression. The Uttermost Lorien Cream Boucle Sofa, sold by Old Bones Co, aims for exactly that effect.
It carries a $3,000 price tag, which lands it squarely among the middle-priced sofas on the Old Bones Co site. We went through the complete spec sheet and weighed it against the buyer trends visible elsewhere on the site, asking whether the price matches the quality of the build.
Materials and Finish
Underneath, the sofa sits on a solid wood plinth base with a rich dark walnut finish. Uttermost’s spec sheet names plywood, hardwood, fabric, foam and hardware.
On top is a nubby, looped boucle in cream, set against a warm oatmeal background. A tan contrast welt outlines the edges.
Dimensions and Weight
The sofa is 90 inches wide, 33 inches deep and 38 inches high. It weighs just under 177 pounds.
That is hefty enough to feel solid. Even so, most living rooms would not need a second person to shift it around.
Fit and Styling
With a width of 90 inches and a depth of 33 inches, the Lorien has the footprint of a regular three-seat sofa rather than a big sectional.
Its low walnut base gives it a sleek, modern profile. That works with the mid-century-leaning look of the Old Bones Co catalog better than a skirted base would.
The loops of cream boucle draw the eye to texture instead of dirt, which is a plus for everyday use. Cream is still a light color, so a formal living room is a better home for it than a busy family room with pets.
What Buyers Can Expect
Unlike some Old Bones Co best sellers, this product page does not host public reviews of its own. We did not want to invent a star rating, so we looked at the brand-wide praise and complaints on BBB and Yelp instead.
For any big upholstered purchase through this site, that is the fairest starting point we have.
The feedback goes in two directions. A number of buyers say their order arrived on schedule and matched what was listed.
Other buyers say delivery ran months past the first estimate. A few received wood parts with visible cracks.
A boucle sofa on a plinth base ships in one piece. If your entryway or stairwell is narrow, paying extra for white glove delivery makes sense.
Our Verdict
If you are after a design-led sofa with a real solid-wood base and upholstery that feels premium, the specs back up the $3,000 price. That holds when you measure it against comparable pieces in the catalog.
Because of the weight, set aside money for white glove delivery. When the sofa shows up, photograph it right away, since damage claims have to be filed within 24 to 48 hours.
