A pen plotter takes a digital design and draws it on paper with a real pen. UUNA TEK’s mid-tier model is the iDraw H A3.

A UUNA TEK iDraw H A3 pen plotter built on an H-shaped frame

The price is $599, reduced from $799, and reviewers give it 4.92 out of 5 across 25 ratings. When shoppers ask UUNA TEK which plotter to begin with, this is the model the company names most.

We studied the spec sheet and plenty of buyer reviews to find out whether that advice is sound.

    What the H Stands For

The letter refers to an H-frame structure. It makes the machine stiffer than the standard iDraw 2.0.

UUNA TEK claims a speed boost of 300 percent over earlier models, which works out to 500 to 600 characters per minute.

This plotter uses 4 stepper motors, while the original iDraw 1.0 relied on 2 servo motors. Pens up to 10mm in diameter fit the holder.

A reviewer called MXLTHS logged more than 1,000 hours of use and noticed no looseness in the frame. Claims about durability like this are difficult to fake, and the result matches what a stiffer H-frame should deliver on paper.

    Buyer Impressions

Reviews average 4.92 out of 5, which is impressive. The comments are specific rather than generic five-star filler.

ChrisR said the machine does not feel like a gimmick and reported reliable running with professional output. Merijn S. said it fixed both the noise and the alignment problems they had with a previous plotter.

Buyers consistently describe the setup as straightforward, especially if you already use Inkscape. Still, you assemble and calibrate this machine yourself, so it will not work the second you unbox it.

    Included Parts and Software

Here is what ships with each unit:

    • A universal power supply rated 100 to 240V
    • A USB cable, 6 feet long
    • A toolkit
    • Magnetic blocks
    • A base plate that holds the paper
    • The plotter itself

The software costs nothing and comes with lifetime updates. You get Inkscape extensions and a command-line interface, and anyone who wants to automate plots through code can use the Python API.

The company sells a laser engraving head separately. Add it, and the base machine can cut wood, acrylic, leather plus a handful of other materials.

How It Stacks Up Against NextDraw

Bantam Tools makes the closest current rival, the NextDraw 1117. It is the A3-class successor to the AxiDraw, which has been discontinued.

The NextDraw costs $1,349, over twice what the iDraw H A3 sells for now. In exchange, it arrives fully assembled and has a brushless pen-lift motor.

Is It the Right Plotter for You?

If you want an A3 pen plotter that handles generative art, signature reproduction and light drafting, UUNA TEK’s range has no easier recommendation. It suits you as long as you do not need the machine fully assembled out of the box.

Set aside an evening for assembly and calibration before expecting gallery-quality output.
