A clear iMailer poly bag printed with a suffocation warning, sized 12 by 15 inches

Sellers who ship folded clothing cannot skip the suffocation warning. Federal packaging rules require it on any close-fitting plastic bag big enough to cover a child’s head.

A bag without the label is the kind of slip that can get an Amazon listing pulled.

iMailer makes suffocation warning bags for exactly this requirement. We reviewed every size, both glue types and the pack pricing. The question was whether these bags make sense for a small clothing shop.

    Material and Printed Warning

All sizes are made of clear poly at a thickness of 1.6 Mil. The suffocation warning text is printed directly on the bag.

That thickness is enough for folded shirts or light apparel, with no stretching or splitting at the seal.

    Permanent or Resealable Glue

You can choose either a permanent or a resealable adhesive strip on each bag.

The permanent strip seals once and is meant for the final trip to the customer. The resealable strip lets you open the bag and close it again.

That second option helps when you are repacking returns or checking quality before an item goes out.

    Sizes, Pack Counts and Prices

    14″ x 20″$19.99100 pack
    18″ x 24″$24.15100 pack

For folded t-shirts and light apparel, the 9″ x 12″ and 12″ x 15″ sizes are the usual choices.

There is also a 1,000-count bulk pack of mixed sizes for $89.99. If you go through a lot of bags, that works out cheaper per bag than buying each size separately.

iMailer’s Cellophane Bags Do a Different Job

The cellophane bags from iMailer are clear and self-sealing, just like these. They leave off the suffocation warning, though.

That makes them a fit for non-apparel items such as photos, cards or bakery packaging.

If your shop ships both clothing and other goods, you will probably need both lines.

    Our Verdict

Anything soft enough to cover a child’s face, from folded clothing to hoodies, calls for this kind of bag. iMailer’s version covers the sizes that most small shops actually use.

Choose resealable glue if you handle returns often. Choose permanent glue if the customer opens the bag only once.
