Cold-water surfers want warmth without feeling wrapped in a mattress. Vissla’s 7 Seas 4/3 Full Chest Zip is aimed at exactly that balance.
Remixd currently lists it at £249.95, reduced from £329.95. Half of the sizes have already sold out there, which is what pushed us to dig deeper.
We checked the spec sheet and read independent gear reviews, wanting to know whether the buzz is deserved.
Neoprene and Construction
Vissla builds this suit from Japanese neoprene made with limestone. The ratio is 80/20, with limestone-derived rubber and nylon making up the blend.
The brand pitches it as lighter, warmer and stretchier than neoprene made from petroleum.
On the inside is a Thermal Fever Fiber lining. It insulates and dries fast between surf sessions.
Production uses a water-based, Bluesign-approved process for dope dyeing and laminating the fabric. Most wetsuits still rely on dyeing methods that lean heavily on solvents, so this approach reduces that.
The seams are triple glued and blind stitched. Vissla’s Super Stretch Neo 3.0 tape then seals them further.
What Independent Testers Say
There are no reviews yet on Remixd for this particular listing. Even so, surf outlets have tested the 7 Seas 4/3 independently, taking it out for real sessions.
Gear testers at The Inertia described it as warm and flexible, yet not flimsy. They saw it as a good choice for younger or lighter surfers who prize freedom of movement over heft.
Surfd ranked the suit among the top-value winter wetsuits available. Its testers reported feeling as warm as in a thicker 5mm suit, crediting the Thermal Fever lining.
Those are weighty words for a suit meant for the chilly Atlantic and Welsh coasts.
Entry, Seals and Everyday Details
You get in through an angled chest zip. Testers say it is easier to line up alone than a back-zip design.
Nobody has to wrestle two zipper halves together behind their own neck.
The neck has a Glideskin seal, and the cuffs are liquid-taped to keep flushing to a minimum. An upcycled Supratex pad on the knees adds toughness at the point where suits tend to fail first.
Remixd gives this listing a cold water range of 51 to 58°F (11 to 14°C). That is serious winter territory, not shoulder-season paddling.
The colors are Black, Naval and Dark Slate, and the sizes are MS, MT, XL, LT, M and L. When we checked, most sizes showed low stock or were sold out.
Selling out this fast on such a specialized suit is a reasonable sign of demand.
Warranty and Where It Sits in the Range
A 1-year warranty from Vissla covers the seams and neoprene, in line with other suits at this price.
Within Remixd’s catalog, its warmth ranks higher than the entry-level 3/2 suits. Its flexibility ranks lower than the heaviest 6mm winter builds.
For most UK and Welsh surfers, that middle ground covers the bulk of the season.
Who Should Buy It
Surfing all year in cold water and wanting warmth without the bulk? Then this suit is a strong pick, particularly while the sale price lasts.
Before ordering, study the size chart closely, because the popular sizes are going quickly.
